My Recently Extended Collection

I recently added 7 more Fountain pens to my collection: 2 Jinhao X450 cartridge/converter filling
Fountain pens with 18 karat gold plated broad medium size Nibs (the smoothest I have ever used), 1 with a blue sky marble pattern; 1 with a pitch black exterior and a Jinhao 290 cartridge/converter filling Fountain pen with a 18 karat gold plated fine blunt nib and magic Orange pattern.  In addition to those pens I received a Private Reserve Velvet Black ink and on Monday, Pelikan Turquoise ink.And last but not least a pen I keep close to my heart the Jinhao J35 first Emperor of China inspired Fountain pen  with a dragon curled around it with ruby incrusted eyes and a 18 Karat Gold plated fine blunt nib. I got this pen yesterday as a belated birthday gift from my best friend Mr. Jaime Tolsa Jr. [he is 11 years old]. Thanks again Jaime!

An ancient Chinese legend tells the story of a young woman in the northern part of China who saw a Dragon fly by her. She passed out as a result and became pregnant with the First Emperor of China, Emperor Qin.  He led the Qin Dynasty which was the first imperial dynasty of China lasting only 15 years, from 221 to 206 BC.  He built the great wall of China.  This wasn't the first Dynasty, but the first one to be ruled by an Emperor not a King. So the dragon on my pen symbolizes Emperor Qin's father according to the legend. Historically, it has been a symbol of the power and majesty associated with the Chinese Emperor.    On  March 15 I had a Fountain pen crazy day.At Miami Twice Thriftshop I as a gift recieved a Vintage Waterman 1920 Ideal #2 Leverfilling Fountain pen [That needs major repairs].And at Dietsels Antiques to my astonishment I purchased a  Vintage Parker 51 ''Special''in amazing condition .With out disassembling the pen and cleaning it out  it  drew ink amazingly and writes like a dream with a cool hooded  Fine Stub Nib and a Aero metric converter built in all for the price of 20$.Thanks Mr.Dietsel and your store Dietsels Antiques call  305- 666- 0724.At Staples for 19 bucks I got a cool Franklin Covey Freemont that can fit a spare Cartridge of ink in the barrel.
